Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
A cardboard box manufacturer is seeking a maintenance technician to perform electrical and mechanical repairs throughout the production facility. This role involves 70% mechanical repairs and 30% electrical repairs. The technician will troubleshoot and repair equipment, performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs to minimize downtime on the production line. Preventative maintenance tasks will also be performed according to the PM schedule.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair equipment performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance according to the PM schedule.
Troubleshoot and repair motor controls and PLCs, including Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
Troubleshoot variable speed AC and DC drive controllers.
Calibrate and troubleshoot sensors.
Troubleshoot circuits such as E-stop circuits and run circuits, tracing circuits to identify issues.
Understand and work with servo motion controls, incremental and absolute position encoders, and resolvers.
Read and interpret electrical schematics.
Perform hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
Repair or replace motors, chains, sprockets, gears, and belts on equipment.
Fix equipment including conveyors, die cutters, large printing machines, a 300 ft. long corrugator, palletizers, wrappers, and material handling equipment.
Essential Skills
5+ years of maintenance experience.
Ability to troubleshoot and trace down sensors and circuits.
Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, electrical motors, and drives.
Ability to read electrical schematics.
Experience with maintenance on motors, chains, sprockets, belts, etc.
Hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance experience.
Possession of own tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in packaging or high-speed manufacturing environments is a plus.

Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced and manufacturing-oriented. It is non-climate controlled and can be hot on the floor due to the machines in operation, but there are many fans in the building. The schedule involves working Monday to Saturday/Sunday, with one weekend off every three weeks. Shifts are currently from 7pm-5am, with the potential to move to 2pm-10pm or 10pm-6am shifts in the future. Training will take place on day shifts for 2-3 weeks.
