Lecturer, Physics
The Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Houston Downtown (UHD) invites applicants for a full-time non-tenure-track lecturer position in physics beginning in fall 2025. The position is a 9-month renewable appointment and requires at least a Master's Degree in Physics.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach the equivalent of five physics courses (15 contact hours) per semester in the Fall and Spring, including lecture and lab sections
- Work with other physics faculty to maintain and improve instructional quality and student success through regular meetings and professional development
- Participate in the assessment process
Required Qualifications:
- MS in Physics
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in physics or related field with 18 graduate hours in PHYS
- Experience in teaching undergraduate physics courses
- Knowledge of and/or experience with the use of instructional technology
- Knowledge of and/or experience with active learning or other methods of student engagement
