Lecturer, Physics

The Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Houston Downtown (UHD) invites applicants for a full-time non-tenure-track lecturer position in physics beginning in fall 2025. The position is a 9-month renewable appointment and requires at least a Master's Degree in Physics.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach the equivalent of five physics courses (15 contact hours) per semester in the Fall and Spring, including lecture and lab sections
• Work with other physics faculty to maintain and improve instructional quality and student success through regular meetings and professional development
• Participate in the assessment process

Required Qualifications:

• MS in Physics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in physics or related field with 18 graduate hours in PHYS
• Experience in teaching undergraduate physics courses
• Knowledge of and/or experience with the use of instructional technology
• Knowledge of and/or experience with active learning or other methods of student engagement
