GE Vernova Lean Specialist in Houston, Texas

Job Description Summary

The Lean Specialist will support the Business Excellence and Lean function in preparing, equipping, and supporting people to successfully adopt change that drives desired outcomes. In this role you will lead, coach, and implement lean improvement initiatives in line with business strategic goals whilst utilizing operational and technical expertise on the shop floor. The right person will be highly organized, have a great attention to detail, and excellent communication and follow-up skills.

Job Description

In the role, the Lean Specialist will:

  • Lead Lean strategic goals and objectives through to completion

  • Use Lean expertise to drive change while also training key stakeholders to drive change within their department

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to ensure cross functional alignment to achieve shop lean objectives

  • Work with cross functional teams to develop projects through to completion supporting from a lean perspective

  • Use data to drive future improvements which will be tracked through KPI’s

  • Lead and execute business turnaround time reduction, Business Excellence, and Lean initiatives using standardized Aero Alliance tools and processes

  • Collaborate with all Aero Alliance employees to make sure they understand and strive to achieve a continual successful “Say Do Ratio” throughout the shop floor

  • Lead the Lean initiative of workshop, driving sustainable process improvements to execute on business and customer Critical to Qualities

  • Coach, mentor, and train employees in Lean concepts by teaching lean tools and methodology

Qualifications/Requirements

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited university or college in engineering or related fields

  • 3 years of experience in Operational Excellence with emphasis on Lean Methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, 7-Ways, 5S, Standard Work, Line Balancing, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis

  • Knowledgeable in repair processes, procedures, and planning in Aeroderivative, Oil and Gas and/or Energy industries

  • Strong Leadership, clear-thinking, inclusive, and strategic expertise

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to set own action plans and be proactive

  • Ability to think analytically and be an excellent problem solver

  • Strong team player who works to make the entire team successful
