Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Lead CAD technician to join a ports and maritime group. This person will be responsible for helping lead a small CAD Team and will provide guidance to more junior level staff. This individual will participate with teams to design small to large

projects (construction values typically from $500K to $50M) and primary focus will be on graphically illustrating the geotechnical, structural, and general civil design elements of projects. Typical ports projects contain marine, geotechnical, structural, piping, rail and general civil

drawings which illustrate how a project will be constructed. Primary responsibility will involve generating scopes of work, estimating overall man-hour efforts related to those scopes, drawing detailed plans and details, generating regulatory documents, and overseeing the quality control

review process.

Skills and Requirements

15+ years' experience specifically working with ports and maritime CAD design/draft work

Experience working with reinforced concrete detailing

Proficient with Civil3D

Previous team lead experience and desire to help manage and help others

Associates degree

Proficient with MS Excel

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Must be comfortable working in office BS degree

Revit experience

MicroStation experience

Structural steel detailing experience null
