IT Information Assurance/Systems Security Specialist - Technical Advisor
KBR is seeking an experienced IT Information Assurance/Systems Security Specialist to support Naval Aviation Systems Command (NAVAIR) efforts related to the Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM) efforts. The successful candidate would assist in designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining security protocols to protect weapon systems data and computer networks to include implementing processes and standards to safeguard sensitive data from cyber threats. Tasking may include identifying vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments, performing security audits, and responding to security incidents by analyzing network traffic and system logs to detect malicious activity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide advice and oversee the execution of the program related to the development, planning, and implementation of information security processes for the protection of classified or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Coordinate, administer, and implement the Classification Management Program. Be responsible for incident reporting involving the loss, compromise or event affecting the security of an IT system. Develop procedures to follow Departmental and National Security policies and controls.
Manage and/or directly support various security functions to include personnel, information, physical, communications, industrial, and continuity and emergency management. Confer with, assist, and advise leadership on security precedents, planning and policy development. Evaluate and recommend measures designed to safeguard personnel to prevent unauthorized access to equipment, facilities, material, and documents; and to safeguard them against espionage, sabotage, damage, and theft. Be capable of performing all aspects of risk assessments when required.
Participate in resolving conflicts related to policy and program objectives and prepare any reports related to compliance findings and recommendations. Apply policy direction to specific operating requirements and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various degrees or levels of security controls. Provide advice and assistance in updating security regulations, operation procedures and security awareness literature. Serve as security program specialist executing and enforcing compliance with operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of an integrated Information Security Program.
Interpret Department of Navy (DoN), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal regulations for Information Security processes as they apply and are implemented within the organization. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of multiple customer missions to facilitate the protection of CUI and classified access as required by contract performance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Clearance & Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required. Current or active DOD Secret clearance, capable of obtaining T5 DoD Clearance - TS/SCI clearance.
Education & Experience: BS in Information Security or related technical field and 15 years of relevant experience.
Skills/Expertise:
Demonstrate relevant expertise in security tools and technologies like vulnerability scanners, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
Possess knowledge of operating systems, system administration, and scripting languages
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify patterns and investigate security incidents
Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate security risks and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Should possess relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
This position offers a flexible remote working environment.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Compensation: $132,000-198,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity, as well as contract affordability.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
