DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Infrastructure Assessment Technician will provide assistance with recording infrastructure assessment throughout the city.
Assists with investigating service requests, conducting field investigations and inspections.
Performs preventive maintenance inspections including checking equipment.
Communicates and coordinates work with other operators and support personnel.
May perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable most of the time with occasional periods of stooping, bending, and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.
This is a Department of Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier I Level.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
No experience is required.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Texas Driver License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2).
PREFERENCES
Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge in working with asset management and work order system software/programs. Infrastructure assessment and/or recording is also desired with a focus on Operation and Maintenance.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
