About the Role:

The Regional HSE & Risk Management Lead is a key leadership role helping to drive the account forward strategically in relation to HSE and risk management. This role has regional responsibility for all aspects of HSE, risk management, compliance and assurance for services provided by CBRE to the client.

It is a multi-functional role leading the development of operational solutions to appropriately manage HSE and risk and deliver excellence across the account regionally. Training and embedding of policies, procedures, operational guidance, and lessons learned focused on incident prevention, risk management, operational and regulatory compliance is a key function of the role.

What You’ll Do:

  • You will lead, manage and deliver HSE and risk programs across a region for a global business account.

  • Responsible for development and implementation of risk strategy and plan, ensuring contractual requirements, client and CBRE Regional requirements and programs are met.

  • Responsible for the implementation of policies, procedures and management systems and programs which are in compliance with industry best practice and where appropriate, ISO or similar alternatives, making the systems/programs innovative and market leading.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the account plans and playbooks for the region. Ensuring information is current, complete, and effectively implemented.

  • Responsible for ensuring a consistent approach in developing documentation in line with the requirements of ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 across the account for the region, in accordance with ethical guidelines and CBRE and client policies and standards.

  • Responsible for leading the reporting, recording and investigation of HSE, risk and compliance related incidents/ events based on identifying root causes, reducing incident/ event exposures and risk reduction in order to prevent similar incidents/ events from occurring.

  • Develops monthly and quarterly Regional HSE, Risk and Assurance Reports and ensures the packs are shared with CBRE and CRE leadership prior to the Governance Meetings.

  • Supports the monthly and quarterly WHS, Risk and Assurance Governance meetings and ensure actions are tracked and updated. Provides data insights that help to track and measure risk trends and ensures the effective communication of lessons learned and industry related safety improvements to drive best in class performance.

  • Leads the monitoring of injury, illness, and incident related performance across the account. Conducting trend analysis and developing and implementing strategic solutions that will improve performance results.

  • Monitor regulatory compliance across the region and communicate all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to the Global WHS and Risk Management Lead and account team to effect timely and necessary corrective actions.

  • Conduct regular risk-based compliance monitoring, assurance and audit activities and enhance compliance to processes and controls.

  • Ensure accurate reporting in ARMS, Harbour (and any related systems), ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.

  • Implements a program of HSE, Risk and Assurance awareness events for the region and conducts regular safety and risk briefings to the teams, to ensure continuous focus and knowledge sharing.

  • Monitors building consultation arrangements across the region, providing relevant data and actively participating in employee consultation as required.

  • Promote a safety and risk culture among the account team and engage contractors to ensure effective consultative arrangements across the region.

  • Ensure training plans and programs are rolled out across the account and compliance is monitored.

  • Ensure compliance related Legal Registers are developed and maintained for the region.

  • Assess impact of any legislative changes and communicates changes across the region.

  • Maintain personal continuous HSE professional development, identifying best practices and drives this across the region.

  • Act as an independent SME/advisor to the Global WHS and Risk Manager on all matters related to conduct, compliance, risk management and governance.

  • Collaborate with the various client departments (including Operational Risk, Corporate Real Estate, Sourcing & Vendor Management and Global Security) and work with the CBRE Platform Team.

  • Effectively manages assigned budget to ensure cost effective solutions are implemented and relevant costs are controlled.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years experience preferred. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Professional qualification in health & safety management is preferred.

  • Auditor training/ qualifications and experience an advantage, ideally to ISO14001, ISO9001 and ISO45001.

  • Trained in ICAM investigations or similar.

  • Audit experience essential

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential.

  • Experience working in facilities management and ideally project/construction safety is essential with a preference for experience in the financial sector.

  • Experience operating at both managerial and operational levels across a country and/or region and understanding the legislative frameworks across various markets.

  • Additional certifications as required by the local authority.

  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.

  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the HSE Manager position is $110,000 annually and the maximum salary for the HSE Manager position is $131,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
