Robert Half HR & Payroll Generalist in Houston, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an HR & Payroll Generalist in the Wholesale Distribution industry, located in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will have a blend of responsibilities in both human resources and payroll administration, ensuring the smooth operation of our team. This role involves handling a variety of tasks, including multi-state payroll processing, employment verification, unemployment claims processing, and assisting with HR functions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage multi-state payroll processing to ensure precise and timely compensation for all employees.

• Handle requests for employment verification and process unemployment claims efficiently.

• Respond to requests from government entities promptly and accurately.

• Assist in the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new talents.

• Ensure the company’s compliance with health and safety regulations, including preparing OSHA work hours.

• Provide additional support to HR functions to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

• Analyze and prepare reports on monthly payroll accounts to provide insights into payroll expenses.

• Conduct and manage special projects as assigned by HR leadership to support strategic initiatives.

• Utilize ADP Workforce Now and other HR and Payroll software to maintain accurate records and streamline processes.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Requirements • Proficient in ADP Workforce Now

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Knowledge of compliance regulations and standards related to human resources and payroll

• Experience with multi-state payroll processing

• Familiarity with Oracle software

• Prior experience in corporate recruiting

• Ability to generate detailed HR reports

• Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and judgment

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks

• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with employees and stakeholders

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

• Knowledge of current HR practices and industry trends

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

• Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
