Siemens Energy Head of Data Lifecycle Management, Compression (US) in Houston, Texas

A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Head of Data Lifecycle Management, you will be responsible for all aspects of data management, including the harmonization and standardization of the CP wide dataflow to create a true digital process twin. You will also oversee the corresponding software framework, maintenance, and support, as well as the data modelers implementing these processes.

Your day begins with a stand-up meeting where you coordinate with your team on upcoming tasks and developments. You will conduct a workshop with process owners to discuss potential automation opportunities. You ensure that tasks are broken down into manageable packages and documented to facilitate agile execution. You analyze the digital data flow with a comprehensive end-to-end process perspective, involving stakeholders across the entire process chain. In the afternoon, you oversee the launch of a new automated process segment and support the adjacent process participants. Thanks to your sustainable change management, you achieve this effortlessly.

You motivate your global team by applying modern leadership principles and inspiring them to achieve excellent work. You provide guidance and make architectural decisions. You are an expert in the field of data management and are intrinsically motivated by automation and digitalization.

The position reports to the Head of Product Digitalization (SE TI CP PRM PD) at the N-4 level and is directly responsible for managing a growing team of 7 engineers and software developers. The role can be based at any main Compression location, including Duisburg/DE, Le Havre/FR, Houston/US, Painted Post/US, Olean/US, Naroda/IN, or Pune/IN.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Build a software framework to create the digital thread according to PD overall strategy, including maintenance, further development, and agile rollout.

  • You make sure that services and interfaces are developed were needed

  • Establish sustainable and transparent data governance.

  • Create harmonized data structures along the process paths.

  • Support a harmonized vision and roadmap, delivering high-quality and impactful improvements to your cross-functional partners.

  • Act as an Agile Product Owner with a team, handling support, project, and related requests.

  • Prioritize sustainable software development practices while maintaining rapid and agile release cycles to enhance productivity.

  • Stay close to our internal customers and actively seek regular feedback to improve the overall landscape and ensure the success of your team.

  • Your ultimate goal is the fully automated process flow.

  • Measure your organization’s performance through critical metrics such as saved process time, quality of software and data, uptime, on-time and on-budget project completion, and user feedback.

  • Foster a mentality of curiosity, innovation, and engineering excellence with a strong "can-do" mentality within your team and yourself by embodying values of leadership excellence.

  • Provide end-user training on implemented product changes and best-practice utilization.

What You Bring

  • A degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and a proven track record in leading data-related fields of knowledge. Those with more years of experience may be considered for a more senior level.

  • Experience in managing teams in a global and culturally diverse organization.

  • Proven project management capability with virtual distributed teams.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and understandable fashion to leadership.

  • Demonstrated financial stewardship and budget management experience.

  • Up to 10% travel, including international, should be expected.

  • Proven experience in conceptualizing, architecting, and constructing selection and engineering software solutions for complex engineered-to-order products, and associated processes, for turbomachinery equipment.

  • Proficiency in English is required.

Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
