Phillips 66 Gulf Coast (GC) Fuel Oil Scheduler in Houston, Texas

The Gulf Coast (GC) Fuel Oil Scheduler safely and effectively works with internal and external customers to manage fuel oil logistics from origin to end users. This will include working with the Gulf Coast refineries, traders, logistics providers, terminals, inspectors, and customers to optimize products and movements. The role also includes supporting blending activities and achieving blend optimization based on available components and market conditions.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Managing logistics for fuel oil transportation from refineries to terminals and/or directly to customers

  • Supporting slurry inventory management for Sweeny and Lake Charles refineries and executing slurry movements to support the Lake Charles Premium Coker operations

  • Ensuring safe, timely deliveries by monitoring and analyzing availability of barges, on-site and off-site storage, supply point options, delivery time requirements, schedule availability, traffic and weather conditions

  • Working closely with traders to optimize movements and blends to capture highest value for slurry and fuel oil products

  • Coordinating internally with Position Keepers, Movement Capture, Inventory Accounting and F&PA Analysts to ensure accurate deal movement capture and timely financial reporting

  • Fostering strong working relationships with external counterparts that distinguish Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence, and professionalism

  • Developing nominations for waterborne movements and seeking vetting approval from Marine

  • Coordinating inspectors and ensuring specification and quantity measurement requirements are fulfilled and reconciling any sharing of costs between counterparties.

  • Performing loss control oversight

  • Entering movements into the SAP, Navarik, Mainstay and other 3rd party systems accurately and on-time as applicable

  • 24-hour on call availability for changes to schedules and emergencies; providing vacation relief as needed

  • Thinking strategically with the ability to anticipate problems and work to provide resolutions

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Able to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop computer 24/7

  • Able to work extended and non-standard hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 or more years of experience working in scheduling, transportation, and/or customer service

  • Experience with SAP, Navarik or Mainstay applications

  • Good understanding of downstream operations and value drivers

  • Ability to set, manage and meet multiple and competing priorities

  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively

  • Highly ethical with a personal drive and dedication to achieve team goals and to increase general interest value to the company while supporting internal and external customers

The Commercial organization works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration. Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations. Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
