About this Role

Barehand Certified General Foreman - Multiple Openings - Houston, TX

High voltage outdoor work. Provides leadership and oversight of assigned projects and crewsin the operation and maintenance function of high voltage electrical substation, distributionand transmission lines, facilities, and equipment in both energized and de-energizedconditions. Requires knowledge of construction planning, execution and work methods forcompleting construction and maintenance projects within scope, budget, and schedule.

What You'll Do

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of crews including but not limited to:

  • Remove and/or install power poles, towers, and other support structures; work on high voltageenergized conductors using rubber glove, hot stick techniques and /or barehand methods.

  • May drive and operate digger derricks, bucket trucks, wire pullers and other associated lineequipment.

  • Works with rubber goods and hot sticks on energized lines.

  • Responsible for planning jobs to ensure compliance with safety and construction standards.

  • Teaches and mentors Apprentice Linemen.

  • Supervises: Electrical Power-Line Installers andRepairers; Crane and Tower Operators; Helpers, and others

  • Proactively manage and review crews to ensure customer quality and safety requirements.

  • Act as the Company representative with the client during projects.

  • Develop and maintain client communication channels to address issues.

  • Monitor and report to management progress and performance.

  • Will supervise up to 2 crews.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Work in various unanticipated locations, outdoors in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.

  • Work to be performed at various unanticipated project locations across the US.

What You'll Bring

  • Five (5) years’ experience: One (1) year related experience as a Foreman in a high voltagedistribution and/or transmission AND Four (4) years’ related experience as a powerlinetech/lineman.

  • Must be certified in climbing steel and wood structures.

  • Able to properly inspect rubber goods and PPE.

  • Work in various unanticipated locations, outdoors in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.

  • Work to be performed at various unanticipated project locations across the US.

  • Move/lift at least 50 lbs. Compliance with safety regulations.

  • Ability to supervise subordinate line workers.

  • Pass pre-employment and other drug screening requirements.

  • Must be Barehand Certified (69-kV to 345-kV – Transmission and 2400-kV to 34.5-kV Distribution Voltage), foreign equivalent accepted.

  • Must have or be able to acquire Journeyman Lineman certification within a reasonable amount of time from a dulyconstituted Outside Local Union of the IBEW or any Outside Joint Apprenticeship andTraining Committee.

  • Over 80% domestic travel required (little notice). Work to be performedat various unanticipated project locations across the US.
