Powell Industries, Inc. Electrical Engineering Intern in Houston, Texas

Powell is dedicated to the future growth and talent of our company. We offer internship opportunities to college students through a 10-week internship program. Our interns receive hands on experience, training and the opportunity to work on a project in their specific area of study.

The Electrical Engineering internship will be focused on understanding Powell Switchgear/MV MCC applications while learning the engineering processes for Powell Industries. Ideal applicants will be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Job Requirements:

A successful intern at Powell will have the following characteristics:

  • Currently pursuing a 4 year degree from an accredited institution

  • Rising Junior or Senior level students continuing their studies in the fall semester

  • Good academic standing; minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Team-player, self-starter, effective communicator, & dependable

  • Possess multi-tasking abilities and strong inter-personal skills

  • Intermediate to advanced drafting/CAD skills

  • Ability to interact with personnel from different disciplines within Powell

  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office products

  • Able to read and interpret electrical symbols, characters, and drawings
