Talent Consulting Experts, LLC Electrical Engineer in Houston, Texas
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in North Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design, particularly with motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to support all phases of product development and design improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Design: Develop and design electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists.
- Application of Specifications: Apply industry standards for Magnetic Motor Starters, Relays, and AC inverters.
- Engineering Support: Provide engineering support throughout product development, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Technical Calculations: Perform calculations for wire sizing and overload protection for systems up to 800V DC and 4160V AC.
- Technical Drawings: Create single-line diagrams, panel layouts, interconnect drawings, and general arrangement drawings.
- Component Specification: Size and specify components based on industry standards and vendor information.
- Design Improvement: Propose design improvements to enhance functionality or reduce costs.
- Circuit Modifications: Modify and improve existing circuit designs as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams on control system design.
- Field Support: Occasionally travel to job sites for meetings or troubleshooting control systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in electrical design, specifically with motor controls.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD 2016 or Zuken E3.
- Experience with PLC and HMI programming, particularly with Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss systems.
- Strong knowledge of NEC Electrical Code.
