McDermott Deck Foreman in Houston, Texas
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Manage deck operations during either pipelay or constructional modes of operations
Control all crane lifting operations, or designate the same to qualified others
Control or designate all mooring operations of the barge during set ups and recoveries
Ensure there are adequate, qualified crews under Deck Foreman’s control to carry out safe and productive operations
As a McDermott Barge Superintendent’s representative, supervise the overall safe installation of the project, as specified and determined in the Project’s Installation Procedures
Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established HSES Safety standards and Work practices
Responsible for following the instructions and responsibilities within the Emergency Response Procedures and advising crews on their responsibilities
Ensure all Level 2 / 3 / 4 Offshore Operations Procedures are followed applicable to the operations
Attend interface meetings/preshift meetings with other shift supervisors to discuss planned events to ensure regular lines of communications are adhered to by all supervisors to maximize safety/efficiency/productivity
Assist in ensuring manning levels are maintained for safe operations of projects
Control marine movements, if instructed by Superintendent in relation to site, and in particular, ensure all vessels are moored in accordance with pre-approved procedures
Ensure all necessary Emergency Drills are held at the required intervals
Ensuring appropriate TRAs have been developed for the work and use TRAs and tool box meetings to eliminate unsafe acts and reduce frequency and number of injuries
In the event of emergency, coordinate Emergency Teams(s) as instructed by the Superintendent
Following all company policies and procedures, and ensuring subordinates do the same.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Minimum 4-5 years experience in offshore construction industry
High school graduate
Minimum 2 years experience as Leaderman/Anchor Foreman
VMT Certificate or OVM
