MD Anderson Cancer Center Credentialing Coordinator - Medical Staff & Credentialing Services in Houston, Texas

The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for applying for, and maintain licensure and registration for clinical faculty and other licensed practitioners employed with MD Anderson Cancer Center. This position is an integral part of the growth and development of the Out of State Licensing Program that is a part of the expansion of MD Anderson's virtual care footprint.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Out of State licensure processes:

  • Responsible for all aspects of applying for licensure on behalf of MD Anderson Clinical Faculty, and others as the process expands. This requires a high level of attention to detail.

Data Entry/Data Review:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely data entry into the credentialing database. Review of information provided on prepopulated applications. When deficiencies or questions exist, researching and escalating to leadership as appropriate.

Administrative Liaison:

* Serves as liaison to administrative support staff in the clinical department for coordinating credentialing of potential candidates for medical staff membership or for licensing as a part of the overall institutional licensing strategy

EDUCATION:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Three years of experience in medical staff services, credentialing, accounting, auditing or other related field.

Preferred: Quality setting with direct experience in credentialing or quality functions.

OTHER:

Preferred: Certification : CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management)
