Robert Half Cost Accounting Manager in Houston, Texas

Description

Our client is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join their team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various financial functions including cost variance analysis, inventory control, and budget process coordination. You will also be involved in financial systems maintenance and implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze actual and standard cost variances to identify discrepancies and make necessary adjustments.

• Oversee standard costing and cost roll processes, ensuring that rates, standards, variance analysis, and controls are accurate and updated.

• Perform monthly closing routines and reporting tasks, such as journal entries and account reconciliation.

• Implement and maintain proper inventory controls for efficient inventory management.

• Administer annual physical inventory and coordinate cycle counts.

• Manage cost update processes and coordinate budget and forecast processes.

• Review capital projects, perform post-project audits, and support fixed asset review.

• Provide support to the Production Management Team in achieving their financial goals.

• Coordinate factory KPI reporting and perform monthly and quarterly financial reviews and presentations.

• Implement and maintain local financial systems, including year-end and periodic updates.

• Process customer orders, including EDI transactions, and manage domestic and international shipping and invoicing of new equipment projects and spare parts.

• Handle return merchandise authorizations and other credit processes as needed.

Requirements

• Experience with Epicor software preferred

• Knowledge of Cost Accounting practices

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role
