Your Opportunity

We are currently seeking Low Carbon Solutions Regional Program Manager to join our team in Energy & Resources business line in Houston, Texas to lead multi-discipline project teams to deliver low carbon energy projects.

The LCS Regional Program Manager will serve as a “seller-doer” to manage business development and pursuit strategies with an existing team, and working towards growing our business in this exciting and evolving area.

This role is instrumental in our business line helping to lead the energy transition projects across North America.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Energy projects/programs

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to further CCUS and Hydrogen programs

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, including CO2 emitters, CCUS, Hydrogen, regulatory bodies, government agencies, and technology providers

  • Lead negotiations and finalize agreements with customers, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial targets

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, legal, finance, and operations to assess project feasibility, develop proposals, and execute contracts

  • Provide expertise and guidance on CCUS and Hydrogen technologies, market trends, and regulatory requirements to internal teams and external partners

  • Monitor industry developments, competitor activities, and policy changes to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risks

  • Track and report key performance metrics related to business development activities, customer engagement, and project execution

  • Coordinate with leadership, discipline leads, inter-discipline teams, high value engineering centers, clients, regulatory entities, vendors and sub-contractors to ensure alignment and consistency of project execution

  • Contribute to client satisfaction by building a culture of excellence and accountability within the Project Management community. Support client relationship management efforts by coaching and mentoring staff

  • Practice effective business discipline across our business line to ensure proactive monitoring and project management related to resources, schedule, budget, and quality

  • Identify and resolve project execution gaps (people, processes, and systems) in collaboration with leadership

  • Provide accurate feedback and develop action plans to implement lessons learned, opportunities for improvement and industry best practices

  • Support BC Leadership in resource management processes, recruitment, succession planning, and coaching/mentoring for PMs and Project Leaders

  • Support mentorship and development of junior staff

  • Achieve utilization target as agreed annually

Qualifications

  • Oil and Gas industry background

  • Business Development strengths

  • Demonstrated leadership competencies

  • In depth knowledge of CCUS and Hydrogen technologies, processes, specifications and regulatory framework.

  • Commercial awareness

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex business plans in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to multitask, in both capacities of handling multiple studies/projects, and be able to carry out multiple tasks and scalability within each project

  • Focused on continuous improvement

  • Focused on providing quality services to the customers in a timely manner

  • Knowledge of project management principles and processes

  • Work in a manner to ensure personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies

  • Willingness to travel on occasion, to meet with customers, attend industry events, and support project activities

  • Must have a good driving record and valid Driver's License

  • Prior to employment with Stantec, this position will require the successful passing of a drug & alcohol screen

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science discipline, or related field

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience working on Oil and Gas projects, both Owner’s Engineer projects (all phases – development through construction) and detailed engineering/design projects

  • Experience working at engineering and consulting company previously

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business development and/or as a “seller-doer” with a focus on midstream, logistics, CCUS and Hydrogen

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer a plus
