Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician safely performs a variety of technical procedures, utilizing specialized angiographic equipment for diagnosis of cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular disease entities; as well as for therapeutic intervention to treat disease processes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Operates Specialized Equipment /Radiation Safety: Operates specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipment

  • Understands needs and identifies needed supplies appropiately for invasive procedures. Ensures supplies available for procedures.

  • Employs radiation protection devices and techniques as required.

  • Independently assists physician as scrub person and operates fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely.

  • Understands and practices sterile technique

  • Orients new employees as related to special procedure technologist duties

  • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities

  • Fulfills assigned on call obligations.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred

  • 3+ years experience in the field of Radiology or as a Cardiovascular Technologist; at least two of which working in a moderately busy cardiac cath or special procedures lab preferred.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT)

  • Vocational School Graduate

  • State Registered Radiologic Technician, or State License Radiological Practical Technician
