Contract CAD Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating new product designs, enhancing existing products, and determining the best-fit solutions within the industry. Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Modeling: Independently design and model new components and assemblies, as well as modify existing designs, using ProE Creo and SolidWorks software.

• Engineering Drawings: Create detailed mechanical drawings and layouts from sketches and specifications.

• Product Knowledge: Collaborate with Senior Design Engineers and product marketing teams to understand product components and design intent.

• Documentation: Develop accurate and detailed release packages, including creating Engineering Change Notifications (ECN).

• Problem Solving: Use effective analytical skills to resolve design and technical issues, ensuring that designs meet all specifications and quality standards.

• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to ensure timely and accurate design and engineering solutions.

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing learning to expand product knowledge and software skills, and apply feedback to improve designs.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Proficiency in 2D drawing and 3D modeling (ProE Creo is required; SolidWorks proficiency is also required).

• Effective use of Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

• Experience with electrical interconnects (cabling, connectors) is a plus.

• Ability to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications.

• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting or related field, or equivalent experience (minimum of five years of related experience).

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

• Proficiency in ProE Creo and SolidWorks .

• Knowledge of Windchill PDM is a plus.

Security Clearance:

Candidates must be capable of holding a US Security Clearance .

What’s in it for you:

Weekly pay from $22-30/hr

Pay Details: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour
