Bloom Academy Bus Monitors
The Bus Monitors will ensure Bloom Academy's core values are exemplified by scholars who utilize transportation services at Bloom Academy by ensuring a safe, joyful, and smooth operational experience for scholars to and from school. This position is a split day shift to ride both the morning and the afternoon bus routes Monday - Friday on every school day, meaning the hours are 5:30am - 7:30am, and then again 2:45pm - 4:45pm approximately. The pay rate is daily of $100.

We are a new and independent school seeking to add deeply mission aligned, smart, hardworking, and emotionally intelligent people to our staff. We opened August 2019 with a cohort of kindergarten and first graders and will serve scholars in grades K-5 the 23-24 school year. At Bloom Academy we provide a safe, joyful, inclusive, and challenging learning environment for all students. Key Responsibilities
Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while in route
Active monitors students during the bus route to prevent behavior problems with scholars to ensure safety, and addresses behavior issues that may arise
Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver
Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
Assists students in the loading and unloading process
Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, students, and parents
Attends all safety and training meetings
Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door
Opens and closes service doors and moves up and down steps multiple times daily
Cleans the inside of the bus
Assists driver when necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards
Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED
A successful background check in compliance with state law.
Good verbal communication skills
Early morning availability and Afternoon availability
Judgement/problem solving skills
Ability to manage high degrees of stress
Prior experience working with children is preferred
