Job Title: Building Engineer
Job Description
Seeking a Building Engineer to perform facility upkeep of 5-6 commercial medical facilities throughout the Houston area, including Houston and Beaumont. Ensure optimal functionality, safety, and appearance of our outpatient medical facilities.
Responsibilities
Perform and assist other associates in the maintenance, repair, operation, and general upkeep at assigned properties.
Respond to tenant requests regarding lighting, plumbing, and other building problems.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on building systems and components, including physical structures, plumbing, door hardware, electrical, and mechanical.
Perform minor service, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems.
Work with sub-contractors and vendors as needed.
Assist other company departments as requested.
Participate in all workplace safety training, comply with all safety policies and procedures, and utilize all safety equipment as required.
Identify and immediately mitigate any unsafe conditions/hazards and develop recommendations on how to remove/safeguard the hazard.
Assist in responding to after-hours calls and emergency situations and perform tasks necessary for the well-being and protection of the property and tenants.
Essential Skills
3 years of commercial maintenance experience
Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing
Professional and polished demeanor
Ability to communicate regularly with tenants and vendors
Possession of a valid Driver's License
High School Diploma or GED
Comfortable with MVR driving requirements
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Commercial office maintenance experience preferred
Medical office/building maintenance experience is nice to have
HVAC certification and/or EPA universal certification are a plus

Work Environment
The role will be split between 5-6 properties, with site visits occurring twice a week (company vehicle provided). Properties are a mix of stand-alone medical offices and buildings attached to hospital systems. While most work will be indoors, you may need to be outside when necessary. An office space will be provided. The work hours are 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour lunch break. You will also need to be on-call certain weeks every month, receiving a $150 on-call stipend for each week even if you are not called out. If called out, you will receive overtime pay in addition to the stipend.
