Description:
Inspects, repairs, and calibrates energy management systems of a power plant, as well as building digital and pneumatic controls.
Assigns technicians to respond to calls for repairs in buildings throughout campus and reviews work performed. May serve as technician when needed.
Resolves complex and unusual problems with building control systems; checks equipment operation, re-commissions controllers, and performs advanced troubleshooting and analysis.
Assists with the development of work schedules, provides input on performance reviews, and participates in interviewing job applicants.
Assesses building needs and creates preventive maintenance schedules for heating and cooling systems.
Monitors energy consumption in campus facilities and identifies energy management opportunities.
Provides training and oversight of building management system technicians.
Updates workstation graphic diagrams to reflect most current renovations.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements: Education: Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level. Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required.
Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
Certification/Licensing Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job, as specified on the job posting details. Work Complexity. Requires detailed knowledge of a specialized or technical field. Work requires the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies and/or precedents.
