Description

We are in search of a diligent Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role offers a hyrbid opportunity with a focus on personal injury defense law. The chosen candidate will be tasked with the defense of our clients facing personal injury claims, preparing legal documents, and actively participating in court proceedings.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate initial personal injury cases to identify potential defense strategies.

• Conduct comprehensive legal research to anticipate possible outcomes and formulate robust defense strategies.

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision.

• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.

• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel during the litigation process, always prioritizing the client's best interests.

• Collaborate with paralegals, interns, and other attorneys to construct the most effective defense.

• Regularly update clients about their case progress and available options.

• Stay abreast of the latest rulings, regulations, and legal trends relevant to personal injury defense law.

• Utilize case management software for efficient handling of client cases and documents.

• Handle client complaints and claims administration in a professional and timely manner.

Requirements

• Must possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Current license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction (TX)

• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Case Management Software

• Skill in using Conveyancer and Document Management systems

• Experience in briefing, civil litigation, claim administration, and complaint handling

• Familiarity with consumer electronics and defense litigation

• Knowledge in insurance defense litigation, personal injury defense, and personal injury litigation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade and influence others

• High level of professional ethics and integrity

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be able to maintain client confidentiality.
