Using in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge, the Associate Solution Manager owns a moderately sized portfolio of solutions and systems (applications) and manages its lifecycle - analysis, design, implementation/adoption, optimization, and end-of-life retirement of digital solutions, delivering advanced functional and business capabilities. Works hand-in-hand with a multi-disciplinary IT expert team (analysts/designers/developers/support) to deliver innovative digital solutions. Performs a functional and technical requirements analysis – with emphasis on experience, simplification, automation, efficiency, reliability. Oversees the development, optimization, implementation and adoption of solutions leveraging best-in-class mobile, web, desktop, cloud technologies. Identifies opportunities for innovating with digital capabilities aiming to accelerate Dow’s digital transformation.
Responsibilities:
Work with Senior Solution Manager and Solution Managers to define the scope and solution architecture of products.
Lead the development and support of Web/Mobile solutions.
Mentor and coach junior developers on your scrum team.
Understand complex data sources and integrations and develop/implement necessary data flows.
Implement top-tier security and data protection.
Performance - Defines controls, measures and KPIs for solution performance and reliability.
Develop and implement a robust set of services and APIs that power application(s).
Build reusable code and libraries for future use and sharing across Dow.
Contribute to the development best practices for the Manufacturing Operations and Dow.
Help shape and guide the adoption of cloud technologies that integrate or interface with legacy systems.
Gather requirements and write acceptance criteria and user stories with the customers / product owners collaboratively as part of a team.
Work closely with other Dow teams (ex: Tech Management, ISS, ITS) in order to turn your solution into reality.
Partner with external vendors and academic institutions to collaboratively design and/or build the best solutions.
Build and foster relationships to drive integration and cross-team decisions.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in IT preferredora minimum of 8 years of relevant experienceorrelevant military experience at an E6 rank/Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher.
A minimum of 5 years of software solution development experience.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills:
Microsoft Azure- Recent experience designing and deploying in Microsoft Azure’s Environment is preferred.
Software Engineering- Modern software engineering skills, including experience with object-oriented programming and material design patterns.
Full Stack Development- Proficient knowledge in full-stack development (front-end and/or back-end development).
Agile Scrum Development- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Agile software development methodologies and work processes, especially Scrum.
Application Development- Participated in application development process from requirements through implementation.
Leadership- Excellent Leadership & Communication Skills.
Human Centered Design- Design Thinking and Human Centered Design experience.
IT Methodologies- General knowledge of Information technology work process, methodologies, and tools.
Manufacturing and Engineering (M&E) work process knowledge.
Familiarity with Code and Frameworks: ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET Frameworks, C#, AngularJS, MVC, JavaScript.
Familiarity with Common Azure Cloud Services: Azure Apps, Azure SQL PaaS/IaaS, Azure KeyVault, Azure Functions/Web APIs (REST/SOAP), Azure AD, App Insights, Azure Hybrid Connection, Azure Data Factory, and more.
Recommended experiences outside the Microsoft stack: SAP Cloud Platform: SAP API Manager, Fiori App Development, SAP UI5 Framework.
Familiarity with various Development frameworks/patterns is a plis, MVC, Angular/Razor, Service/Repository, Singleton.
Familiarity with IoC/DI, Unity/AutoFac.
Familiarity with ORM’s EntityFramework.
