This position will be an integral member of the Institutional Value team, primarily responsible for providing operations support for Safe Discharge program deployments, optimization, and sustainability.
This role will require direct collaboration with program leadership and market team members for optimal delivery of Institutional Value programs, as assigned. This role is critical to deployment operations, supporting performance monitoring, analysis, and market operator’s satisfaction. In partnership with the Senior Leadership team, responsible for deployment and sustainability functions related to the operational management and impact, and accountable for the timely, effective, and comprehensive support of program needs.

Primary Responsibilities:
Support clinical and operational programming alongside program Directors for defined set of facilities or markets based on member volume or scope of opportunity
Inform and develop functional, market level and/or site strategy and new program opportunities by providing required diligence (e.g., background research, obtaining data, etc.)
Owns end to end process for assigned Institutional Value program including access needs, service menu and workflow development, tracking, analysis and performance improvement support to assigned market stakeholders
Act as functional subject matter expert for Institutional Value programs (e.g., Hospital Safe Discharge, ED Safe Discharge)
Perform pre-engagement preparations for assigned markets such as identifying and connecting with stakeholders, understanding their population, key players, and prepares materials with those specific nuances in-mind
Lead facility/market facing conversations and coordinate site visits as needed
Partners with market to deploy site specific processes
Supports design and implementation efforts by analyzing business processes, systems and operations in existing market capabilities/systems and informing workflows, arranging/supporting trainings, content production, creating and monitoring trackers
Participate in development of business strategy for supported programs
Has a detailed understanding of the status of each program rollout by assigned region/market, and continually leverages internal program plans to ensure plans are on-track
Identifies and anticipates risks related to each program implementation and clearly communicates/engages Directors to address concerns and mitigate
Collect and evaluate data/information to identify Clinical Best Practices and improvements
Works collaboratively with the clinical teams to ensure optimal workflows are in place to ensure effective and efficient outcomes
Maintain and monitor implemented programs and processes
Works collaboratively across pillars to inform performance management, reporting and outcomes for national reporting
Demonstrate proficiency in elements of healthcare operations and strategy, with a strong preference for expertise in mechanisms to reduce total cost of care
Quantitatively assess gaps in program delivery and build or customize solutions that address those gaps Prevalence and benchmark analysis, performance monitoring, ad hoc analysis to measure ROI and opportunity
Demonstrate high levels of EQ while engaging stakeholders and colleagues Interact with senior management by providing thoughtful analysis on key decision points to drive initiatives forward

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience (e.g. consulting, strategy, clinical operations, medical group, health plans, program evaluation, data analytics, data science)
Proven aptitude for and facility with change management and care transformation processes
Demonstrated proficiency in consultative skills when addressing complex inquiries from clients, vendors and customers
Willing and able to travel up to 25%

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
