Summary

The primary purpose of the Assistant Professor for the Cell Therapy Research laboratory operations is to achieve strategic goals and ensure compliance with all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for cell therapy research laboratory.

Provides leadership to faculty and staff in all activities performed by the laboratories. Ensures facilities have appropriate equipment and resources and meet safety and regulatory guidelines while functioning efficiently and meet productivity goals and patient care needs. Serves as the cell processing facility director as mandated by regulatory bodies to achieve and maintain accreditation.

Key Functions

  1. Assists Director in planning and oversight of the operations and achievement of strategic goals for the SCTCT Cellular Therapy Research Laboratories.

  2. Perform integrative research of epigenomics, genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics in human complex diseases, such as cancer, through computational approaches while utilizing bulk and single-cell multi-omics sequencing data.

  3. Oversee single-cell multi-omics and artificial intelligence for research portfolio.

  4. Ensure critical facility parameters that may affect cellular therapy product viability, integrity, contamination, sterility, or cross-contamination during collection are identified, controlled, monitored, and recorded to demonstrate ongoing compliance with regulatory bodies.

  5. Supports the creation and maintenance of systems to ensure quality for all products handled through the SCTCT Cellular Therapy Research Laboratories.

  6. Participates in conferences and other department functions, conferences, committees as requested.

  7. Supports the Director in establishing staffing, space and equipment management.

  8. Ensures facilities have appropriate equipment and resources and meet safety and regulatory guidelines while functioning efficiently and meet productivity goals and patient care needs.

  9. Plans and conducts in-service sessions on current scientific advances and new technology.

  10. Supports the preparation and submission of Investigational New Drug (IND) documents.

  11. Develops and participates on research projects, grant proposals, and manuscript preparations and revisions.

  12. Perform research to serve as basis for academic writing for publications and grant proposals.

  13. Other duties as assigned.

Work Location: Onsite

This position has a target base salary of $80,000 to $100,000 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
