MD Anderson Cancer Center Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA) - Pediatrics - Patient Care in Houston, Texas

This clinical faculty position in the division of Pediatrics will:

· Spend the majority of his/her clinical activity in the Inpatient Service and must possess strong communication skills to communicate with patients, family members, hospital staff and other faculty members within the Institution.

· Provides clinical expertise in patient care management with combined Pediatrics and General Internal Medicine and provides an appropriate teaching environment for fellows, residents and students. The Assistant Professor must be fully ambulatory and have excellent bilateral manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination, visual and auditory acuity in order to perform the job functions. The Assistant Professor will be intelligent with outstanding analytical skills in order to make judgments regarding the patient's medical problems and advise the patient on methods to improve their care. Furthermore, the Assistant Professor must have emotional and psychological stability so that he will be able to manage patients and their families in a compassionate and positive manner.

The Assistant Professor will participate in the development of clinical research studies and will be independently responsible for new patient evaluations, initiation of appropriate referrals, and follow-up as appropriate. Clinical procedures practiced will encompass those pertinent in delivering standard care to the patient.

Work Location: Onsite

This position has a target base salary of $223,241 to $268,672 and is eligible for incentive compensation, comprehensive health, wellness, time off, savings, and retirement benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.

Required: The candidate must have completed a medical degree (MD/DO) in an accredited medical school or equivalent. Candidates must have completed an accredited pediatrics residency program. Completion of an accredited pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship is sought, although applicants with a strong background in oncology are encouraged to apply as well. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and be licensed as a physician in the State of Texas.
