Oxy’s Supply Chain Management organization is looking for a team player to support the development, implementation and management of the Diverse Business Inclusion Program and its corporate goals. The Diverse Business Inclusion Advisor will be a part of the Supply Chain, Diverse Business Inclusion team based out of our Houston, TX office.

 

Internal Activities:

·       Retrieve, organize and analyze supplier data using Excel

·       Promote and support the Diverse Business Inclusion program and its goals

·       Function as SME on certifying Councils and their search tools including providing onboarding and refresher training as needed

·       Recruit Diverse Business Inclusion Champions and share updates with the internal Champion network

·       Leverage technology, digital tools, and data to support supplier identification, communication, registration portal development and reporting to maintain compliance, increase usage and improve user experience

·       Support the development, implementation and maintenance of Supplier Diversity programs, procedures, and systems

·       Support the establishment and dissemination of guidelines for individuals with purchasing authority to ensure a “best in class” Supplier Diversity program in accordance with company standards and objectives

·       Advise Procurement and stakeholders on Supplier Diversity programs and strategies

·       Provide appropriate training and learning opportunities, in coordination with the SCM Training Team, to grow skills and knowledge of Procurement practitioners and stakeholders

·       Perform sourcing, screening, and referral of qualified diverse suppliers. Provide information to Procurement colleagues and stakeholders regarding existing and new diverse supplier options

·       Collaborate with assigned Procurement commercial teams and key stakeholders to develop targets and sourcing strategies designed to increase the utilization of diverse suppliers

·       Supplier Diversity Reporting:

o   Drive key Diverse Business Inclusion program development and activity, including driving improved KPI (performance metrics) and benchmarking

o   Coordinate supplier diversity Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier reporting activities, including government reporting, customer reporting, internal stakeholder reporting and third-party industry organizational reporting as needed

o   Analyze supplier diversity data and provide trend analysis and key take aways

·       Program Development and Management

o   Responsible for setting up and sharing Diverse Business Inclusion reporting via dashboards

o   Maintain and update Supplier Diversity SharePoint or other internal sites

o   Collaborate extensively with the Procurement team and other key stakeholders across the company to identify areas of opportunity, monitor progress and establish plans to close gaps relative to business diversity programs

o   Partner with assigned leadership teams to establish Supplier Diversity program goals, share results, and recommend actions needed to achieve program goals

o   Share Supplier Diversity progress through presentations as needed and as defined by manager

o   Assist with the development of program practices, forms, and templates to ensure that procedures are structured for effective consideration and participation of diverse businesses

o   Support the creation of content and work with communications & marketing to produce all required internal and external communications

External Activities

  • Work with external vendors to validate the Oxy Supplier Data quarterly
  • Conduct follow-up communications with suppliers to ensure certification details are up to date
  • Act as primary liaison to diverse suppliers
  • Manage supplier communications, address inquiries, and connect suppliers to business needs as required
  • Identify qualified, prospective diverse suppliers and facilitate introductory discussions with key stakeholders
  • Benchmark industry best practices in supplier diversity programs and implement appropriate practices into the supplier diversity strategy

               ·    Manage, review, and respond to inquiries from various non-supplier channels,                         including supplier diversity questionnaires or surveys

               ·    Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with select diverse suppliers.

           ·   Support supplier development by working with Category Managers and/or internal                   stakeholders to review performance, resolve issues and provide guidance to enhance             supplier capabilities and growth opportunities

              ·     Conduct diverse supplier education, mentorship, and advocacy sessions as needed

  • Benchmark with external companies and partners to collect insights and usable analytics to determine what good looks like, improve results, and respond to business needs
  • Develop, facilitate, advocate, and optimize supplier diversity tools and processes leverage best practices from stakeholders, partners, and competitors
  • Perform other duties as requested that support the success of the Supplier Diversity program

              ·      Attend external activities as assigned by manager; may require domestic travel up to             5%

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Data analytics, System Engineering or related field
  • 5 years of relevant professional work experience
  • Functional knowledge of procurement systems (SAP, Ariba, etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced skill using Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and creating presentations (V-lookup, pivot tables, etc.). Basic knowledge of PowerBI for dashboards
  • Knowledge of data analytics - Ability to analyze information to draw conclusions, find actionable solutions and summarize into visual presentations
  • Ability to prioritize work strategically and independently to achieve business priorities
  • Advanced presentation development and presentation delivery skills
  • Great interpersonal (people) skills; the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Innovative: takes initiative to find ways to get better results, seeks and takes advantage of ideas, best practices and solutions developed elsewhere
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of the Oxy sourcing process is a plus
  • Knowledge of Upstream Oil & Gas is a plus
