Description We are in search of a diligent Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the service industry, located in Houston, Texas. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity where you will be actively involved in managing accounts payable activities, processing purchase orders, and maintaining vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of invoices in alignment with received purchase orders.

• Scrutinize purchase orders and execute necessary actions for their rectification.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of purchase order processes and apply this knowledge in daily operations.

• Carry out research related to purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Correct any discrepancies or errors found in purchase orders to maintain the integrity of financial data.

• Leverage your Accounts Payable experience to effectively manage financial commitments.

• Regularly post vendor invoices in Infor to keep records current and accurate.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors while handling their invoices.

• Participate in month-end close processes to ensure all financial obligations are met.

• Execute check runs to manage the company's outgoing payments effectively. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in accurately and efficiently coding invoices

• Familiarity with check runs and ensuring payments are made in a timely manner

• Skilled in entering vendor invoices into the accounting system

• Excellent communication skills for maintaining vendor relationships

• Knowledge of month-end close procedures and reporting

• Experience in managing purchase orders

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficient with accounting software and Office Suite

• Basic understanding of accounting principles

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
