Position Description
Individual will be responsible for various joint interest accounting activities for the company. Specific job duties to include:
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Calculate monthly journal entries allowed per the JOA
- Monthly accrual calculations
- Joint Interest Billing system processing
- Collection and analysis of joint interest accounts receivable
- Income statement variance analysis of operating expenses
- Balance sheet account reconciliation
- Resolution of working interest owner inquiries
- Completion of ad hoc projects as required
Position Requirements
Education:
- BS/BA in Accounting/Finance is a plus
Experience/ Specific Knowledge:
- 5 years Oil and Gas Joint Venture Accounting
- Experience and knowledge of Lawson and Enertia
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
- Strong knowledge of Joint Interest accounting and COPAS guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Exhibit high degree of initiative and ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical skills
Qualifications:
- This position requires a candidate that possesses both strong analytical and communication skills, is self-motivated, results driven and detail oriented. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Specific knowledge of Enertia and Lawson accounting systems is preferred.
