Phoenix Specialty, Inc. Accounts Receivable (A/R) Specialist in Houston, Pennsylvania

COMPANY OVERVIEW:  Phoenix Specialty, Inc. (PSI) is a 100% employee-owned company and is a leading manufacturer's representative and service provider for specialty parts and assemblies in the oil and gas industry.  PSI also owns Pro-Flo Sales (PF), a distributor of technical flow-control products. 

POSITION OVERVIEW:  The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager in support of the Accounts Receivable function, primarily for PF, as well as supporting the overall accounting and finance group.  This position is responsible for safe work practices while complying with all applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer set up and Credit Evaluation,
  • Obtain Customer sales tax exemption certificates.
  • Review invoices and follow up with customers and sales department regarding discrepancies.
  • Customer Portal entry of invoices.
  • Provide Customer Support internally and externally.
  • Manage outstanding balances, and collection of past-due accounts.
  • General account management and reconciliation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 yr. Associates or 4 yr. BA/ College degree preferred; focus in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 3+ years in Accounts Receivables

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Office including
    • Excel/Word
    • Outlook
    • PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with an ERP system (ECi M1 Preferred)
  • Previous work experience with Customer A/R Portals such as Open Invoice, Ariba, Taulia.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • It is estimated that travel related to this position will be less than 10%.
