Our Product Support department is looking for a

Field Support Technician (m/f/d)

Part of the Aftermarket and Customer Support organization at John Deere is the Product Support team. Team members offer technical assistance to John Deere dealers via the Customer Contact Management System (CCMS) and also provide on-site support. This role is challenging, dynamic, and highly rewarding. Product support professionals collaborate with various departments across the company, including engineering, quality, manufacturing, marketing, the branch organization, dealers, and customers. By gaining insights into all aspects of our business, individuals can discover other areas within the company that may lead to future career opportunities.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Field Support Technician, you will deliver product and customer support for agricultural machinery related to Application Equipment by troubleshooting technical issues in the field. You will also optimize machine performance to enhance the customer experience. The issues addressed in this role can be complex and may include various functional areas, such as hydraulics and electronics. Additionally, you will:

  • Perform investigations on machines at dealer locations and customer sites in the field.

  • Carry out measurements and repairs on customer equipment.

  • Offer technical support to dealers regarding repairs.

  • Optimize machine settings to ensure maximum performance.

  • Support the delivery of technical training for dealers and customers.

  • Document findings from field visits in an organized manner.

  • Identify and communicate any emerging product problems based on field data, using existing documentation processes.

What Skills You Need:

You have good communication skills in English and are capable of problem-solving while working in a team environment. Ideally, you have experience in agriculture and a keen interest in the technical aspects of equipment. We also require:

  • Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex technical issues.

  • Good communication skills to facilitate collaboration with fellow Product Support team members, design engineers, and other multifunctional teams for better understanding.

  • Demonstrates a well-organized work style and has good writing skills.

  • Knowledgeable about agricultural production systems and customer expectations, with experience working with sprayers in the field being a plus.

  • Due to the seasonal nature of the product, flexibility in working hours is essential during spring, with a desired adaptable attitude towards work hours during other seasons.

  • This position requires a willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40%.
