Siemens Energy Turbomachinery Mechanic in Horsham, Pennsylvania

Snapshot of Your Day

Daily shift toolbox meeting, covering safety, quality, general announcements, and distribution of work. Disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild turbomachinery. Work alongside a team of mechanics, machinists, weld technicians, inspectors, engineers and project managers to repair critical turbomachinery equipment! Customers include oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, universities and hospitals. Work daily under direct guidance from experienced shop leadman and supervisor.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Primary responsibility includesdisassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair and assembly of steam turbines,centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, and other relatedequipment.

  • Safety is very important – it iseveryone’s duty to work safely, report any unsafe conditions, near misses,and suggestions for improvement to shop leadership immediately.

  • Work to be done following specificinstructions and shop routers

  • Use wrenches and hydraulic tooling asrequired.

  • Use precision measurement tools such as IDand OD micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators to dimensionally inspectcomponents.

  • Use hand-held tablet devices to recordvisual inspection findings, dimensional data and measurements, andphotograph damage

  • Review bills of materials andmanufacturing drawings to compile list of replacement parts

  • Collaborate with repair engineer andproject manager throughout inspections, repairs and reassembly.

  • Review repair instructions and routers,and implement repairs

  • Assemble equipment as needed per OEMdrawings, specifications, and standards, documenting and photographingthroughout.

What You Bring

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED that can beverified

  • Medium sized toolbox on wheels, includinghammers, wrenches, screwdrivers etc., up to 1 1/4”

  • Proven ability to interpret shopinstructions and manufacturing drawings

  • Proven ability to read scales, micrometers

  • Familiarity with tools and equipment atthe repair center

  • Demonstrated ability to effectivelyperform work you're doing with limited supervision

  • A positive, can-do, demeanor, working wellwith others

  • Willing to learn and receive instruction

  • Able to take constructive feedback

  • Strong work ethic, pursuing excellence anda high-quality standard

  • Dependable, able to be at work promptly ontime every day and communicate proactively when emergencies happen.

  • Flexible to work overtime as needed(weekends and holidays may be occasionally required based on clientschedules)

  • Applicants must be legally authorized foremployment in the United States without need for current or futureemployer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees withcurrent visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers

Preferred:

  • Minimum three (3) year experience inindustrial mechanical repairs

  • Minimum three (3) year experienceoperating overhead cranes and forklifts

  • Minimum three (3) year experience inrigging with straps, chains, chain-falls, swivel eyes, etc.

  • Background in repair of reciprocatingcompressors, centrifugal compressors, and/or steam turbines
