Job Title: Food Service Worker
Department: Nutrition
Reports To: Nutrition Manager
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: A Food Service Worker will assist in the preparation, serving, and delivery of food to the patient, employee, and resident areas. This individual may serve in the cafeteria; have cashier responsibilities, and/or dish room and utility duties. Individuals may also assist in catering functions.
Job Results & Essential Function
Each Food Service Worker is assigned to tasks they have been trained for. Each task has a descriptive "Pattern of Management" associated with it. Food Service Workers are required to complete their assigned tasks in the allotted time period and will check with their supervisor before signing out for the day. Food Service Workers may also be required to do additional tasks within reason and as deemed necessary by their supervisor.
Prepares and serves drinks and foods such as sandwiches, salads, and dressings according to customer specifications.
Provides menu information.
Assists with food preparation as directed, operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.
Operates grill, broiler, or deep fryer to prepare specific fast foods.
Arranges table settings.
Clears, cleans, and sanitizes tables.
Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstations.
Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to the appropriate location in the kitchen area.
Refills condiments or other supplies.
Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.

Salary Description
