Express Employment Professionals CNC Operator in Hoquiam, Washington

Mechanical Engineer needed for local company.  The Mechanical Engineer will perform a variety of engineering assignments by applying standard engineering practices and principals. Plan, organize and perform complete engineering assignments including major development projects, conduct necessary research to specific design problems and recommends design modifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate major design projects including new product lines and custom orders.
  • Perform engineering calculations including: power transmission, pneumatic and hydraulic design and stress analysis.
  • Improve existing designs and prepare engineering change notices (ECN's) documenting changes to existing drawings and documentation
  • Prepare bills of material for new assemblies and coordinate the detailing of new parts and assemblies in drafting.
  • Research and specify commercial components and materials.
  • Position may involve trade show attendance and travel to field locations to evaluate new and existing designs.
  • Analyze research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal.
  • Confer with other engineers to clarify or resolve problems and develop a design.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layouts and detail and assembly drawings.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing of prototype products or systems.
  • Plan and develop experimental test programs.
  • Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Confer with manufacturing and engineering personnel and prepare design modifications as required.
  • Evaluate engineering test results for application to machinery or systems.
  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering and design tasks.
  • Provide technical information to the sales and service departments including assembly, detail and commercial part numbers.   Assist field service in troubleshooting efforts.
  • Perform other Engineering Department related functions as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

*EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: *Typically requires a mechanical engineering or equivalent degree and 5 or more years of industrial experience.  Requires extensive CAD system experience. Must have a working knowledge of standard office software: MS Windows XP, Outlook, Word, Excel and Explorer.
