Plans and schedules maintenance work. Creates work instructions, sequence of tasks and duration of tasks for job plans. Utilizes management systems and tools (such as CMMS, IMPACT, Primavera, MS Project) to plan, schedule, communicate and track maintenance activity ensuring alignment with production/operations coordinators. Oversees contractor schedules for equipment delivery and execution.

Performs routine tasks independently. General supervision of non-routine work. Has basic knowledge of Chevron policies and practices

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Associate Maintenance Planning Coordinator 2 through 7/17/2024 at 11:59 p.m. (PST).

The purpose of this role is to maximize REG work force capabilities through prioritizing, planning , scheduling, and scoping of maintenance work orders at the Grays Harbor facility. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will assist in backlog reviews and prioritization activities with Production and Maintenance Supervision. The Planner/Scheduler will scope work orders to estimate cost, labor, materials, equipment, and special tool requirements to complete the job in a safe and cost-effective manner. The planner also maintains the CMMS data for all plant equipment and associated parts.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Plan Work

  • Prioritize work order backlog to plan most important work first.

  • Make field inspections and determine job scope.

  • Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment, and execution of maintenance work.

  • Create, use and maintain plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plant to anticipate and avoid delays.

  • Call vendors, get quotes and enter purchase orders as needed for maintenance jobs.

  • Stage materials and special tools in designated job kitting areas.

  • Evaluate job feedback to improve future work.

  • Be familiar with safety rules and safe work requirements to include in job planning.

  • Provide technical assistance as required to support maintenance.

  • Prepare metrics and reports.

  • Assist performance of failure analysis and implement improvements.

  • Use JDE (CMMS) and other applications to support maintenance .

  • Update and maintain the CMMS information for the plant.

  • Enter work order information into the CMMS .

  • Perform other duties as assigned .

  • Demonstrate attention to detail .

  • Ability to read and understand process flow sheets, P&IDs, specifications, and drawings.

  • Knowledge of common production equipment such as centrifugal pumps , compressors, gearboxes, motors, electrical distribution systems, instrumentation systems and fixed equipment.

  • Knowledge of standard industrial safety procedures such as lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, hot work permit, elevated work, blinding, isolations, purging, mobile equipment operation and permitting.

  • Knowledge of standard maintenance and repair procedures such as pipefitting, pressure testing, rigging, equipment alignments, precision measurements, disassembly and assembly procedures of rotating and fixed equipment, instrument calibrations, electrical testing and maintenance of motors, sub stations and electrical distribution equipment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly experienced with MS office products

  • Works independently as well as lead/participate on teams.

  • Effectively manages multiple tasks under time and cost pressure; assigns appropriate priorities to competing interests; and achieves results with minimal supervision.

  • Awareness of new technical developments and ability of applying new knowledge to the processes in place at REG

  • Advanced use of CMMS, specifically the ability to create WO’s, model WO’s, BOM’s, create/ modify assets, PM frequencies, etc.

  • Work as a field coordinator, zone coordinator, or assist in a coordinator type role during Turnaround Execution.

  • Provide personal contact information on an as needed basis for official business purposes .

    Required Qualifications:

    Education Required : High school diploma and vocational training or 2-year associate degree-Industrial technology or accredited journeyman program.

    **Experience may substitute education requirements

    Experience Required : 10 years working as a tradesperson in the field with a minimum of 4 years as a journeyman.

    **Experience in a process plant or production environment experience in biofuels or petrochemical sectors preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment in the maintenance of a modern chemical processing facility.

    Knowledge of industrial equipment such as fans, pumps, compressors, piping, and their parts and components.

    Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions applicable to maintenance work in the factory.

    Ability to apply technical knowledge to determine equipment problems and appropriate solutions in swiftly developing job plans.

    Ability to calculate estimates and costs.

    Abil ity to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal and written forms.

    Ability to work with others including operators, contractors, vendors, maintenance technicians, peers, and supervisors.

    Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from files, catalogues, reports, and manuals.

    Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights up to 100 ft. with adequate protection.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $66,700 – $114,400 . The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
