Job Title: Controls Technician
Job Description
As a Controls Technician, you will be responsible for performing PLC edits, traveling to customer sites, and working with hydraulic systems, sensors, and electrical schematics. Your role will include testing, installation, and ensuring machinery operates correctly. This position requires strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
Responsibilities
Assist in wiring machinery and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
Read and interpret electrical schematics.
Edit existing PLC programs (PLC 500 or 5000).
Learn and understand the equipment thoroughly.
Travel to customer sites for installation and run-off, ensuring systems are fully operational.
Communicate effectively with both internal team members and external customers during installations.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in PLC 500 or 5000 program edits.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Experience with hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems (AC/DC).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with automation and schematic design.

Work Environment
This role involves working across three locations in Hopkins, depending on the equipment being serviced. The team is small and includes 2 Controls Technicians, 2 Service Technicians, a Controls Designer, and a Controls Programmer. Travel is required 30-50% of the year, with trips lasting 3-5 days at a time and returning home every weekend. The work environment is dynamic and requires flexibility and teamwork.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkins, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
