Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity in the accounting sector, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role is for a Staff Accountant, and the workplace is a non-profit organization. As a Staff Accountant at our progressive and fast-paced company, you will play an active role in our mission of paving the way for fiscal clarity and organizational growth. You will need to be a methodical, detail-oriented superhero when it comes to journal entries, account reconciliations, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the compliance of grants by reviewing transactions meticulously.
• Conducting thorough account reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Applying General Ledger and Grant Accounting principles effectively.
• Preparing comprehensive financial statements regularly.
• Managing and preparing reports for federal, state, and private grants.
• Keeping track of additional contributions diligently.
• Creating accurate and detailed budgets and forecasts.
• Using Intermediate Excel to maintain and process financial data.
• Ensuring the Monthly Financial Statements are accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements • Candidate must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in the accounting field.
• Proficiency in Grant Accounting is a necessary skill for this role.
• Experience with General Ledger management is required.
• Applicant must be adept at Account Reconciliation.
• Ability to prepare and analyze Monthly Financial Statements is essential.
• The role demands a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• The applicant should have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is expected.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is crucial.
• A degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
