Actalent Pharmacy Technician (REMOTE) in Honolulu, Hawaii

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pharmacy Technician with a background in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) to join our team. The ideal candidate has to reside in Hawaii.

They will support pharmacy operations, assist with prior authorization processes, and collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to ensure effective medication management. This role is crucial in optimizing drug utilization, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring compliance with PBM policies.

This is a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the submission, review, and documentation of prior authorization requests, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

  • Aid in medication therapy management by providing necessary information to healthcare providers and patients, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens.

  • Work closely with PBM pharmacists to develop and implement formulary changes, utilization management strategies, and compliance reporting.

  • Communicate with patients and healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues, provide drug information, and facilitate optimal patient care.

  • Maintain accurate records of prior authorizations, medication requests, and other relevant data to support PBM operations and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, or at least 1 year in a PBM or managed care setting.

  • Strong understanding of pharmacy benefit management processes, prior authorization procedures, and medication therapy management.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in pharmacy-related software and technology for data entry, claims processing, and record-keeping.

  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to pharmacy practice and PBM operations.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and PBM pharmacists.

This is a fully remote position.

Hours are 1100AM-730PM Sunday-Thursday. (This is the most common schedule but may fluctuate due to business need, rarely)

Training schedule will differ. (First few months)
