Job Description

Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. As the Patient Referral Specialist, you will play the crucial role of ensuring that our patients receive accurate and timely referrals for medical attention when needed. You will provide essential coordination of clinical activities for new patients and report functions to referring agencies while maintaining patient confidentiality. We are looking for someone prudent and organized, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft Office, fax program and EPIC applications. Current BLS/HCP card with the American Heart Association. One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications: Completed medical terminology course. Medical/Clinical experience in an outpatient setting. Clinical background (MA or LPN) experience in an outpatient setting. Familiarity with clinical operations.
