Queen's Health System Ops Mgr, Patient Accounts (Full-Time, Day Shift, 40 Hours) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates, monitors, and manages the daily operations of assigned area(s). Works with designated staff to ensure accurate and timely processing of billing, cashiering, and patient account functions and activities as assigned.

• Ensures functions and activities are performed in accordance with department procedures.

• Ensures operations meet quality standards and established goals, objectives, and organizational initiatives.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Essential: Standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying usual weight of 5 pounds up to 25 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.

• Operates various office equipment, computer, fax, telephone, printer.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

• Exposed to heavy paper dust.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Two (2) years business school or college; or two (2) years experience in billing, collections, finance or financial services may substituted for the educational requirement.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• In addition to the educational requirement, four (4) years experience in an acute care hospital, preferably in admitting/registration or business services; OR four (4) years in finance or financial services experience.

• One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.

• Experience to demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

• Experience in registration, scheduling, third party billing, or account follow-up may be required based on area of assignment.
