Queen's Health System Coordinator, Managed Care Contracts (Full-Time, 40, Day) in Honolulu, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates and administers contracts with healthcare insurance providers for The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS).
• Implements and monitors contracts for compliance; analyzes contracts for financial effectiveness and to make recommendations to maximize cost and quality of care.
• Serves as a liaison with third party payors to promote the services of QHS and to improve provider relations.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
• Continuous: finger dexterity.
• Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax and printer.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Health Care Administration; OR, four (4) years experience in healthcare provider contract coordination and administration may be substituted for educational requirement.
• Master’s degree in related field preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• In addition to the educational requirement, three (3) years healthcare insurance provider contract negotiations experience, preferably in a comparable organization.
• Prior supervisory/leadership experience.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to work independently and effectively with internal and external personnel at various levels of responsibility.
o Knowledge of contracts, financial analysis methods, accounting principles, and health care delivery systems.
o Knowledge of requirements specific to government-funded health care program and third party payer reimbursement.
