Queen's Health System Coordinator, Inventory Control - Central Supply (Full-Time, 40, Days) in Honolulu, Hawaii

RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the Inventory or Point of Use supply chain management systems. Provides oversight and coverage for assigned area as follows:

o Inventory: Develops, recommends, implements, and monitors procedures and controls necessary to efficiently and cost effectively manage hospital supply inventory while fully supporting the supply needs of The Queen’s Medical Center.

o Point of Use: Plans, develops and manages the operations of the point of use systems, and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in an efficient and effective manner.

• Extracts, analyzes, and organizes appropriate supply chain data to forecast usage, make internal par level changes, and works with respective vendors/distributors to make adjustments as needed.

• Serves as a liaison between Supply Chain and other departments and external vendors.

• Performs inventory control functions including coordination of product additions, revisions, and deletions and cycle counts.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.

• Frequent: sitting, walking, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds of force, lifting up to 40 pounds, reaching above shoulder.

• Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, squatting, twisting body, carrying 25 pounds.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; or five (5) years supply chain management experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.

• Central Service Technician certification by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) highly preferred.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• In addition to the educational requirement, three (3) years experience in supply chain management, preferably in a comparable organization.

• Familiarity with medical/surgical supplies.

• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain concepts and practices including: purchasing, warehousing, inventory control, material handling systems and centralized supply chain management systems.
