Full-Time, Limited-Term (not to exceed ten (10) months in duration), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Pacific Ciguatera Network, located in Honolulu, Hawai?i. This position is grant funded and is being offered through August 2025. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $4,333.33 - $4,853.33/Mon.
DUTIES:
Under direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), facilitates, coordinates, and provides general support of the Pacific Ciguatera Network. Leads a Hawai?i-based project focused on field collections and lab analyses of ciguatera poisoning. Coordinates other project duties as needed to support coastal health work. Responsibilitieswill include butare not limited to the following: meeting coordination, partner support, data collection, data analysis, data synthesis, report writing, community engagement, outreach and education, and presentations.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in
Marine Biology, Education, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
Up to one (0-1) year of experience working on ciguatera research in Hawai?i.
KNOWLEDGE
Strong knowledge of local needs, best practices, and current research related to ciguatera poisoning. Expertise in Hawaiian culture, language, and stewardship practices.
ABILITIES and SKILLS
Proficient ability to
coordinate among partners and colleagues, facilitate collaboration, support lab operations, and provide general support and program management. Ability to work independently.
Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
PHYSICAL/MEDICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be a strong swimmer, to perform field and lab work.
