Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Honolulu, Hawaii

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor based in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role involves managing accounting operations, assigning tasks to finance and accounting staff, and overseeing administrative staff. You will also be responsible for developing and improving financial and accounting policies, conducting audits, and preparing financial reports. Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve company financial and accounting policies, processes, workflows, and methods

• Audit accounts to ensure they are free of errors and comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Prepare and present accounting and financial reports to executives

• Manage accounting and operational project development and management

• Review journal entries to pinpoint possible fraud and errors

• Assist in preparing adjusting, closing, and general journal entries

• Support the accounts receivable and payable departments

• Apply public accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP Accounting in all tasks

• Generate ad hoc reports as needed

• Verify invoices for accuracy and efficiency

• Implement strategies to increase operating efficiencies.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Manager or Supervisor role

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is mandatory

• Proficiency in Public Accounting and GAAP Accounting

• Capable of performing tasks such as verifying invoices and creating journal entries

• Experience in creating Ad Hoc Reports for management

• Demonstrated ability to improve operating efficiencies within an accounting department

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws regarding accounting, finances, taxation, and business operations

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
