Citigroup Strategic Equity Solutions (SES) / Corporate Equity Derivatives Structurer - Director in Hong Kong, Hong Kong

The Structurer is an experienced Corporate Equity Derivative professional with 10+ years of experience. Recognized subject matter expert in the Corporate Equity Derivative space. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity with experience working with a spectrum of clients including private bank, financial sponsors and corporates. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally with stakeholders as well externally with clients. Ability to build connections at a senior level is important. Provides advanced judgment and conducts in-depth analysis to understand and solve client problems and will need to be excited to develop new, innovative solutions. Required to think beyond existing solutions, assumptions or current knowledge and be willing to challenge status quo. Need to thrive in a team environment, be excited to mentor junior team members and expected to travel to different countries in the APAC region.

Responsibilities:

  • The Structurer will hold a key role including pricing, developing innovative structuring solutions for clients across the private bank, corporate and investment bank as well as financial institutions.

  • To lead execution on all transactions ranging from margin loans and equity derivative structures.

  • To interface with the client to explain risk of structures and be able to tailor structures according to client feedback.

  • Work with internal stakeholders for transaction approvals

  • Participate to the development of new products

  • Prepare marketing presentations and participation in client meetings

  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure on structure

  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics

  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.

  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you

  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • To train and mentor juniors within the team

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years structuring experience from a financial institution

  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with multiple functional groups in a cohesive manner.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree
