Manulife Senior Manager, Asia Treasury in Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Asia Treasury is a key business partner in providing day-to-day support and advice of payment and cash management solution of Manulife Asia. We are responsible for safeguarding of Manulife’s cash assets, working in close partnership with all Asia jurisdictions to ensure a robust control environment, develop an effective & efficient cash management infrastructure and deliver Treasury target operating model and vision across Asia.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager for our Asia Treasury team. This role will lead and support the delivery of multiple strategic initiatives, including Operational Payment Resilience, Treasury Management System (“TMS”), and cash management advisory services & initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, project management expertise, business analysis for requirement gathering and solutioning as well as a good understanding of banking digital channels and treasury cash management & operations.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead and support Asia Treasury strategic initiatives to drive the delivery of Treasury target operating model and vision across Asia region which covers TMS implementation, operational payment resilience, process automation initiatives and cash management advisory & initiatives.

  • Lead and drive the E2E execution of the assigned treasury strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business sponsors, cross functional stakeholders, and delivery teams about the scope, priority, timeline, and costs.

  • Develop and communicate project timeline, priorities, requirements, and ensuring a constant alignment between Manulife stakeholders and external banks / vendors for the solution delivery as well as project reporting.

  • Conduct thorough business analysis to capture the business and functional requirements for the multiple projects, communicate and collaborate with various IT delivery teams and external banks / vendors to ensure the solution is delivered according to the requirements.

  • Responsible for designing and executing of the test plans to validate the results and collaborate with teams to resolve the defects on the timely manner.

  • Decide on projects priority based on project dependencies, synergy between projects, and business priorities.

  • Reuse/combine project tasks/deliverables to ensure synergy amongst projects for cost efficiency.

Manage and support execution of treasury advisory initiatives & cash management best practice for Asia

  • Support in design and execute cash management best practice for Asia entities, including bank account structure design, sweeping arrangement, optimizing cash yield and cash efficiency for working capital, and fund flow between operation and investment.

  • Support in establishing Asia cash management function in managing cash for Asia region using TMS across both operation and custody cash.

Budget planning and forecasting for Asia Treasury

  • Drive the overall department budget process, perform regular review of the expenses and maintenance in Manulife budget platform.

  • Support in planning and forecasting for annual budget planning and monthly update, overseeing budget and expense across different initiatives.

  • Support in Asia banking relationship management assessing and reviewing bank products and services such as interest optimization, payment gateway solution, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 – 10 years of progressive in business analysis, project management and financial services experience.

  • Proven track record of successful project management and execution in the financial services/insurance sector.

  • Digitally savvy and quick learner on various systems and applications, up-to-date knowledge on digital trends and solutions in the industry.

  • Result-oriented and Goal getter – ability to prioritize based on values to drive the outcomes.

  • Strong problem-solving skill with the ability to deep dives into business operational problems, identify opportunities, evaluate business impacts, and develop solution.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to translate technical outcomes into business terms easily understand by senior management.

  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple complex projects and activities, while working under pressure and with tight deadlines.

  • Work ethics – strong sense of ownership and integrity to deliver as promised.

  • Flexible to accommodate and work in a dynamic and changing environment.

  • Basic understanding of SWIFT / H2H / API / other bank communications channels is an asset.

  • Proven ability and experience working in a large-scale system / business transformation program would be an asset.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
