JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager supports the Director, Accounting, Hong Kong in the Continent’s accounting operations.This position provides financial leadership for Hong Kong’s Continent office and will also serve as the Business partner to management for overall accounting planning, reporting and analysis. This position directly reports to the Director, Accounting, Hong Kong.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline

  • CPA or advanced degree

  • Minimum of 8 years commercial and/or public accounting experience

  • Fluency in English and Chinese

Preferred

  • Experience in developing financial analytical reports or financial planning tools

  • Previous experience in dealing with management will be an added advantage

  • Preference for accounting experience with major multinational corporation as well as big 4 background

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Supervise and oversee general accounting functions of Hong Kong and Taiwan entities, including accounts payable, T&E and corporate credit card, accounts receivable and general ledger

  • Responsible for the month-end closing to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures

  • Develop and implement internal strategies and policies to optimize accounting processes, and strengthen internal controls

  • Supervise balance sheet reconciliations, functional expense reporting and travel data management

  • Collaborate with business owners and financial business partners on financial results and facilitate performance review

  • Support system implementation by collaborating with internal and external IT, conducting UAT and ensuring alignment with requirements

  • Develop and maintain close partnerships with business/operational counterparts

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently; strong time management skills

  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and under pressure. Comfort with challenging status quo to improve effectiveness

  • Supports, manages, and initiates change within the organization, taking steps to remove barriers or to accelerate its pace
