Job Overview:
The IT Technical Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware and software issues for internal LabCorp employees. This role requires strong knowledge in IT systems, networks, and technology solutions, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and a customer-focused approach to IT support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues across LabCorp systems.
Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and mobile devices.
Collaborate with other IT team members to manage and support software applications and systems.
Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
Respond to and resolve service requests within established SLAs, providing timely updates to end users.
Perform system and software updates, patches, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and system documentation.
Provide training and guidance to end users on software applications and best practices.
Work with vendors and other IT teams to ensure effective implementation of technology solutions.
Participate in IT projects and initiatives, providing technical expertise and support as needed.
Assist in maintaining data backups and disaster recovery processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in IT support, technical troubleshooting, and system administration.
Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as common software applications.
Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and equipment.
Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and other enterprise-level software solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical users.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Cisco, etc.) are a plus.
Prior experience in healthcare or laboratory IT environments is preferred but not required.
Pay range: 79,300-120,000
