DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will undertake various technical responsibilities related to the inspection of materials and workmanship in transportation construction projects. Your role will involve supporting the adherence to Pennsylvania Test Method (PTM) protocols and relevant standards set by the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM), ensuring the precision of all testing procedures and laboratory reports. A critical aspect of this role includes monitoring and inspecting shipments to confirm that the quality of delivered materials aligns with specifications, supported by accurate weigh slips reflecting the quantities shipped. Furthermore, you will observe technicians at Portland cement plants, asphalt plants, and aggregate quarries as they conduct tests and maintain quality control over production. You will also assist in accurately documenting sampling and testing methods as per the designated protocols for each material type, while promptly identifying and reporting any potential issues to your supervisor.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Hollidaysburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or One year of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
